Clint Eastwood

What a fiasco….Thanks Clint from all the democrats…..Thanks for just being you

Chiefs Pre-Season TV

Thank god the pre-season is over and suck up Trent Green can go back and work on his craft…..Trent…you are supposed to have at least a scintilla of journalism in you….Not everything the Chiefs do is exciting and perfect…

Political Conventions Time to Go but probably won’t

As a pure political junkie, I have very fond memories of watching the Political conventions on three tv sets (one tuned to CBS, one to NBC and one to ABC) since 1964.Watch the conventions with my Dad in 64, 68 & 72. Watch 76 convention by myself and the 80, 84 with my wife…you get the idea.

Absolutely riveting even when it was incredibly boring. Helped me determine to go into history and follow politics. yet I see there is no reason for them anymore. News just doesn/t get made at them anymore….No reason for gavel to gavel converage. It is a three-four day informercial with all the charm and excitement of an informerical.

their time has come and gone, but they will still be with us far into the future. Why…..simply caused they get covered….

thought it interesting that Republicans are getting upset that Hurricane Isaac…per Rep Issaa…that the hurricane coming ashore in SE Lousiana and heading toward New Orleans is a begger story than the coronation of Mitt.

Well, duh…..

KCTV top 50 Chiefs of all time

KCTV’s contest/countdown smacks of KCTV’s desperation to build some kind of ratings for the 10 PM Newscast. Then, Michael Coleman tells us that he will count them down starting in September. Will we be subjected to this for fifty days? Is Michael Coleman going to let Brad Fanning do the countdown when he is off?

Even if they condense the countdown to one month, this is way too long of a time period to do this contest.

Oh, by the way….the number Chief will be Lenny Dawson…sorry for breaking the suspense….

Oh, and if they get cute….look for Lamar Hunt in the top 3

Creativity is what is lacking at Channel 5….that is why they are losing the news battle

Chiefs pre-season tv coverage

The Star has a suck-up story about the Chiefs production company that produces the Chiefs pre-season games shown on KCTV 5.

This is a wholly owned Chiefs product do you expect it to be over-the- top in being a homer deal. It goes way beyond that. Among a few of the things that are wrong….

Peoli’s interview in the first few minutes of the 3rd quarter. The announcer and Trent Green’s need to find optimistic things to talk about is almost nauseating when you are getting handled by Seattle and St. Louis.

The 65TPT insertion at every break is another example of people not knowing that less is more. Just cause you think it is creative doesn’t mean you have to do it over and over again.

More later….a good friends wedding beckons

Ad against David Glass and reaction

What a waste of $5000. Won’t accomplish anything. It is not particularly well written. And could have had a greater impact if he had run a smaller ad and had run it more often.

And of course, we had to hear Jack Harry’s reaction in the Bottomline blog post…talk about running out and talking to the usual suspects.

Suchan and Global Warning

Earlier this week Chris Suchan thought it was important enough to announce on air that he was going to Meteorologist’s convention this week in Boston. Through an unrelated blog post I saw that the major question at the convention will be what do meteorologists say on tv about global warming.

Most tv weathermen believe in the science of global warming because they believe in the science. A small minority of weathermen do not believe in global warming and will not talk about it….,

So Chris when you get back, are you going to let us know where you stand?

Where has Yoder been for the last year

Where was the apology over the last year? He only apologizes when the word comes out….what a weasel

Akin comments on MSNB..Now with Alex Wagner

The panel saved the show…..Kay Bailey Hutchinson is such a waste of a seat. I can see why she could not win the Texas governorship. Sally Quinn, Senator Gillibrand, and Joan Walsh is such a good group and advocates for women.

Worst segment of the day on KC Live

Every time you think that have hit a new low…they add a new segment….showing stuff from Craig’s List…..not a bit of creativity
